Books

Have you ever wondered why suffering happens? Have you asked God, “Why me? Will this ever change? Is there hope for me?”
Like a crocus that blooms through frozen ground, hope can rise even in the coldest seasons of life. In Finding Hope in Suffering, Sona Jamgotchian, a board-certified master biblical counselor, gently walks alongside readers through grief, waiting, disappointment, illness, loss, and unanswered questions—offering compassionate guidance, practical wisdom, personal testimony, and biblical truth for every step of the journey.
This book is written not only for those in the depths of pain but also for anyone longing to grow—those waiting on God, wrestling with unanswered prayer, or simply searching for deeper encouragement and spiritual footing. Drawing on years of biblical counseling experience and her own story of loss, Sona offers both a companion for hard seasons and a practical guide for spiritual growth. Each chapter combines Scripture, counseling insight, and reflection to help you process your own season of suffering—not just read about it.
This book will help you:
-
Understand suffering—and waiting—through a biblical lens.
-
Gain clarity and peace when you don't understand what God is doing.
-
Apply practical, Scripture-based wisdom to real struggles like grief, family pain, physical illness, and disappointment.
-
Understand where emotions like shame, guilt, and blame come from—and how to work with them instead of being controlled by them.
-
Recognize the hidden pitfalls of serving others—as a parent, caregiver, or ministry leader—so you can care for others without neglecting your own soul.
-
Grow spiritually, even when circumstances haven't changed.
-
Experience renewed faith and the assurance that God has not abandoned your story.
As you reflect on your past, make sense of your present, and look toward your future, this book invites you to believe again. Hope can bloom, healing is possible, and your hardest season does not have to be your final season.
"Whether you are currently walking through a difficult season, carrying wounds from the past, or seeking to help someone who is hurting, Finding Hope in Suffering will be the go-to resource for every hurting heart." — Lena Ekmekjian, Author and Educator
